10 Line switchboard
Cover closed. Screw at centre top secures the cover to the switchboard. Pic 2 shows front with cover removed.
Top with terminals for 10 lines. These go out to the remote phones in the field. (next pic) Front showing detail of number window & line terminal The row of holes in the wood that are slightly cut of in this pic but are visible above, are "holders" for the lead when not in use. When the dynamo crank is turned at the remote phone, the current generated causes the flap to drop from in front of the number corresponding to the line.
Bottom storage area for cables shown open. I think the large socket at the rear is there to join this to another board to increase the number of lines available.
Interior label detail
End detail. Note the small flap that allows the lead to the terminal inside. The thumb catches secure the bottom storage compartment.
